Navigation is the bread and butter of hill walking. Over the day you will learn the basics of navigating safely over mountainous terrain, we aim to go out in all weathers as there is no better classroom than a cloudy wet hill!

Base location

The aim of our navigation course is to enable you to use map and compass to travel off the beaten path. For this reason our base location is the somewhat pathless Ochills between Stirling and Perth. Full details will be sent out with confirmation of your booking.

Previous experience

The Scottish hills can be a harsh environment so please come prepared to be out on the hill in typical Scottish weather. No prior map reading skills are needed to participate in this course however; a good level of fitness will enable you to get the most out of your day.

Cost Includes

The course fee includes instruction and the use of maps. It does not include accommodation; guests can then make their own arrangements depending on personnel budget.

Course does not include

Accommodation, personnel equipment, insurance, food or transport
