Equipment checklist

Have you ever fancied sleeping under the stars high on a mountain plateau? If you have, come and join us for two nights as we backpack across the Scottish mountains whilst never having to worry about coming down before it gets dark.
We use carefully selected locations to allow us to bivi on the summits of some of Scotland’s most picturesque peaks. Obviously this journey is totally at the mercy of our fickle weather but fear not as contingency plans are always in place to cope with the unpredictable conditions.
Please come suitably prepared as you will be expected to carry all your own personnel equipment (including sleeping bag/stove) and food for this course.

Base location

Although our 3 days will be spent up high in the mountains we will kick start our journey in Aviemore. Full details will be sent out with confirmation of your booking.

Previous experience

The Scottish hills can be a harsh environment so please come prepared to be out on the hill in typical Scottish weather. Expect to carry all your own equipment including sleeping bags and bivi kit typically over 8 – 10 miles per day. Previous hill walking experience is essential although experience of sleeping under the stars is not. Terrain can be arduous underfoot so an above average degree of fitness is required to ensure everyone gets the most out of the trip.

Cost Includes

The course fee includes instruction and the use of maps. It does not include accommodation before the start or at the end of the course; guests can then make their own arrangements depending on personnel budget.

Course does not include

Accommodation, personnel equipment, specialist equipment such as bivi and sleeping bags, insurance, food or transport to base location.
